Cape Town is a modern, cosmopolitan city surrounded by nature. Centred around Table Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of the world, the Mother City is known for its beautiful beaches, stunning biodiversity, award-winning food and wine, and sheer variety of experiences on offer. (visit link)

1. Cape Town Helicopters: S 33° 54.058 E 018° 25.522
Cape Town Helicopters, located at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, offers a wide variety of scenic flights around the peninsula. The company also offers day trips to the wine regions, shark cage diving and safaris. We had a very nice flight over Cape Town and would recommend it. (Hours: 8.00 AM to 6:00 PM)

2. Victoria Wharf Shopping Center: S 33° 54.263 E 018° 25.217
South Africa’s most popular shopping destination, Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, located on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, is home to over 450 retail outlets ranging from home accessories and boutiques to spa products and Afrocentric souvenirs. It proudly bills itself as South Africa’s highest-rated green mall.

3. Nobel Square: S 33° 54.390 E 018° 25.182
Nobel Square is a public square in the V&A Waterfront neighborhood of Cape Town dedicated to South Africa’s four Nobel Peace Prize laureates: Albert Luthuli, Desmond Tutu, Frederik Willem de Klerk and Nelson Mandela. These great men all played their part in helping South Africa to democracy after decades of apartheid.

4.Wale Street: S 33° 55.275 E 018° 24.900
Wale Street transverses the heart of the Bo-Kaap District. Here, you will find colorful houses and traditional cobbled streets. Some of the houses date back to 1763-1768. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Dutch captured slaves from Indonesia, Zanzibar, Mozambique, and Madagascar. These slaves leased homes in the Bo-Kaap district. According to folklore, when the houses were leased, they had to be painted white. After the slaves were granted freedom and allowed to buy houses, the former slaves painted the homes in vibrant colors. (visit link)

5. South African Parliament: S 33° 55.535 E 018° 25.163
The parliament building, which also houses the Library of Parliament, is beautiful, with its central dome and Corinthian porticos and pavilions. Visitors can buy tickets to sit in the public gallery during parliamentary sessions between January and June, although you need to remember to have your passport with you. There are guided tours through the Houses of Parliament buildings during the week.
