In October of 1885 Samuel 1-11-1825,and Christina 3-7-1840,Bowsher of German decent made their way here on a wagon from Lima,Ohio.
They built a log cabin barn and Samuel Bowsher became sick.
The Log cabin is still the structure at the location,it was pegged together.
At that time there was no electricity so all work is hand done.
They moved into the barn for the winter because of the extreme cold.
The Log Cabin they planned to build by the nearby spring was never built.
It is now know locally as Chicken Corner, the Bowshers have raised Chickens here for over 100 years.
People from all over the globe still come here for exotic chickens and roosters
They are both buried just north in the Bowsher Cemetery.
The Cabin was rocked over in the late 1960's to help preserve it.
My friend Jay Bowsher the Grandson of Samuel Bowsher still lives in the cabin.
