"Fürst Hans-Adam II. ist der älteste Sohn von Fürst Franz Josef II. und Fürstin Gina. Er ist das erste in Liechtenstein aufgewachsene Staatsoberhaupt sowie der 15. regierende Fürst des Hauses von Liechtenstein.

Fürst Hans-Adam II. wurde am 14. Februar 1945 geboren und wuchs zusammen mit seinen vier Geschwistern bei seinen Eltern auf Schloss Vaduz auf. Er besuchte die Volksschule in Vaduz und war Mitglied der Pfadfinderabteilung Vaduz.

Im Jahre 1956 trat Fürst Hans-Adam II. in das Schottengymnasium in Wien ein, welches auch sein Vater Fürst Franz Josef II. einst besucht hatte. 1960 wechselte er an das Gymnasium in Zuoz, das er 1965 mit einer Schweizer Matura sowie einem Deutschen Abitur wieder verliess. Nach seinem Mittelschulstudium arbeitete Fürst Hans-Adam II. zunächst als Praktikant in einer Bank in London. Neben seiner Muttersprache Deutsch beherrscht er auch die englische sowie die französische Sprache. An der Hochschule St. Gallen schrieb sich Fürst Hans-Adam II. für das Studium der Betriebs- und Volkswirtschaft ein, welches er mit dem Lizentiat abschloss."

"Prince Hans-Adam II is the eldest son of Prince Franz Josef II and Princess Gina. He is the first head of state to grow up in Liechtenstein and the 15th reigning prince of the House of Liechtenstein.

Prince Hans-Adam II was born on February 14, 1945 and grew up with his four siblings at his parents' house in Vaduz Castle. He attended elementary school in Vaduz and was a member of the Vaduz Boy Scouts.

In 1956, Prince Hans-Adam II entered the Schottengymnasium in Vienna, which his father, Prince Franz Josef II, had also attended. In 1960, he transferred to the grammar school in Zuoz, which he left in 1965 with a Swiss Matura and a German Abitur. After completing his secondary school studies, Prince Hans-Adam II initially worked as an intern in a bank in London. In addition to his native German, he also speaks English and French. At the University of St. Gallen, he wrote Prince Hans-Adam II studied business and economics, which he completed with a licentiate."

Personal Experience:
We walked up to the castle and visited the viewing points. We stood at the gates but because it is a privet recidence and the family stil lives there you may not enter. You do have a spectacular view over Vaduz, the river Rhine and the mountains in Switzerland from up there.
