Iron gate in this place with neoclassical touches.
One of those interesting spots that exist in some countries, with a passage of stores but with some architecture.
The black iron gate is closed from 20 to 10. It has some starry motif.
Connects San Vicente Martir and Mariano Benlliure.
"At a point of great commercial value at the end of the 19th century, close to the Market Square, this building with a covered passageway was designed to connect the old Cashiers and Pelota squares. The Pasaje Ripalda, Valencia's first commercial passageway, had Italian and French influences. A determining factor in its configuration was Arnau's stay in Rome after finishing his studies in 1874, which allowed him to become acquainted with contemporary Italian architecture. Here he reproduces, on a smaller scale, commercial galleries with dwellings such as the one dedicated to Vittorio Emmanuele in Milan in 1865, or that of Humberto I in Naples in 1887. The Ripalda Passage, like those, is of modest proportions but tried to imitate with its language the opulence of the European architecture of the time. The eclectic decoration of the facades showed elements of different origins: from classical (Corinthian columns, Doric pilasters, semicircular arches, etc.) to false mansards and sculptures imported from French architecture. It is covered by a reinforced vault of steel and glass and it differentiates the ground and mezzanine floors, commercial as in the rest of San Vicente street, from the upper floors with luxurious housing. Very modified, the major transformation, in the mid-twentieth century, is due to José Luis Testor, who designed a comprehensive reform that removed the profuse decoration, incorporated bay windows and raised the building by one floor."
