The Sugarloaf Cable Car (Portuguese: Bondinho do Pão de Açúcar) is a cableway system in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The first part runs between Praia Vermelha and Morro da Urca (at 722 feet (220 m)), from where the second rises to the summit of the 1,299-foot (396 m) Sugarloaf Mountain.

This impressive artwork can be found at the first station of the cable car located at Av. Pasteur 520, Urca, Rio de Janeiro.

The marker reads: "On February 4, 1998, the Bondinho Pao de Açucar, under the presidency of Cristovào Leite de Castro, inaugurated the sculpture "Tribute to the Old Machine" by plastic artist Marco Pudny, who used the gears and pulleys of the first cable car system that operated for 60 years. The inauguration was carried out by the special secretary of tourism of Rio de Janeiro, Gérard Bourgeaiseau."

I did not find any information on Gérard Bourgeaiseau who was special secretary of tourism for Rio de Janeiro in 1998.
