The GrainCorp Silos at Lake Boga were painted by renowned silo artist Tim Bowtell in October 2023. One silo features a Catalina Flying Boat and the base's commanding officer George Urquhart, the other has an Australian pelican flying over the lake. Lake Boga during World War II was a flying boat repair depot housing 1,500 servicemen and women, the location was chosen as it was deemed out of range of carrier-based Japanese aircraft. A museum on the lake shore has a catalina on display along with the history of the base.
