Located just outside of downtown Columbus, this arena was opened in 2000. This arena has been the home of the Columbus Blue Jackets since its opening, and has housed the Columbus Destroyers since 2004. The arena frequently plays host to various concerts, professional bull riding, and of course monster trucks.

I visited this evening to attend a CBJ game verses the Dallas Stars. Unfortunately Columbus lost this game 3-0. I have frequently attended hockey matches at this arena since its opening. The below information is copied from the arena's website: http://www.nationwidearena.com

Arena Size: 685,000 total square feet in the main arena; 110,000 total square feet in attached practice facility, the Dispatch Ice Haus.

Total Project Size: 800,000 square feet (includes practice rink, office and retail space)

Seating Capacities: 18,500 for hockey; 19,500 for basketball; up to 20,000 for concerts.

Premium Seating: 16 Founders Suites, 36 Executive Suites, 26 loge boxes, 29 Club Terrace Tables, 6 Party Suites

Levels: 6 Levels: Event Level, Main Concourse, Club Level, Suite Level, Upper Concourse, Press Level

Unique Features: Two 80-foot party suite towers anchor the arena's stage end. Each tower represents three suites for a total of six suites. Party tower suites, seating between 24-48 people, are available for rent during hockey games and family shows.

A 70-foot glass-enclosed atrium, open lobbies and concourses allow guests to immediately feel part of the action.

A 135-foot light tower will illuminate the downtown Columbus sky to signal an event happening inside Nationwide Arena.
