[ENG] Zgorzala is a small village placed near Warszawa. The name history? The village was mentioned first time in 1580. In the 16th century, new settlements in Poland were often founded in places where forests had previously grown. To prepare the place for the new village, some of the trees were cut down and the rest were burned. Hence the name Zgorzala, after the forest that "gorzal", or in old Polish: was on fire.
And this is my village now :)

W XVI wieku nowe osady w Polsce czesto zakladano w miejscach gdzie wczesniej rósl las. By przygotowac miejsce na nowa wioske czesc drzew wycinano, a reszte wypalano. Stad nazwa Zgorzala, po lesie który "gorzal", czyli po staropolsku: palil sie.
I to jest dzis moja wioska :)
