The budget Hostel literally popped up as I was walking around Kuala Lumpur with a full hiking backpack and a day pack. A true 'God send'! I hope that you don't mind a few stairs, (like x40) as reception is up two floors. There is a variety of options, from single, family, and dorm rooms with x3 double bunks. Each with its one toilet/shower. Basic metal lockers are available to lock up valuables while wandering the city. While you can pre-book, and pay the deposit online, the residual amount needs to paid in MYR cash. (Try booking with the app HostelWorld for a discount.)

As a more mature client I was offered the bottom bunk, and there was plenty of clearance - at 185cm there was no danger in hitting my head when sitting up or changing. Each bunk has its own power point and LED light. A fitted sheet, towel and blanket are supplied. Some breakfast is supplied if not up too early - toast and spreads. A fridge, and a small kitchenette with reverse osmosis filtered water made things convenient for me. A communal eating and reading area has a few power points, with a couple of international sockets at 220V (if using US/NZ/ or Australian leads for your laptop).
