Dovecote located in a village environment in The Village Museum.

The dovecote is built entirely of wood and is placed on wooden posts. It has four gables where you can see the entrances of the pigeons. On those sides there are 7 pigeon holes and on the other side there is 1 pigeon hole.

The dovecote is an original structure that was moved to the Village Museum in 1936 from an area in Romania called Chiojdu Mic. The pigeon house has been moved together with other buildings from the area and dates from the beginning of the 18th century.

The Village Museum was founded in 1936. It is an area of over 15 hectares and displays traditional houses, mills, farmhouses, churches, water mills and other buildings from all over Romania.
All buildings have been removed from their original area and rebuilt in the museum area. In the museum, the buildings are recreated in small environments, so that you can clearly see the difference between the types of buildings in the various regions of Romania.
(If known) Approximately how many pigeonholes in the dovecote?: Not listed
