"The Casa de la Parra receives its name from the large vine that adorned its façade until it was replaced by the current half-timbered screen. It was built at the beginning of the 16th century within the Gothic tradition, as can be seen in the doors of access and on the side façade, with twin windows with pointed arches.

Next to it, the so-called "Casa del Águila" was attached in the 17th century, in reference to the Estrada y Tagle shield that centers the façade, in which you can also admire the arcades, parapets and balcony, typical of the noble baroque architecture of our region.

It is an architectural complex located in the upper area of ??the Plaza Mayor of Santillana, made up of two buildings joined by a small two-story volume, built between the 16th and 17th centuries and where, on a regular basis, the Ministry of Culture, tourism and sport the Government of Cantabria holds temporary exhibitions."
