Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin is located on part of the grounds of the former Anhalter Bahnhof. The station was destroyed during World War II, but some parts of the rail depot survived and have been incorporated into the museum, including the twin roundhouses. As part of the railroad exhibits, a large model railroad has been built that replicates Anhalter Bahnhof as it was prior to the war.
The model is approximately 25 metres long and 3 metres wide, and uses H0-scale. It includes the main station building, the depot buildings, the railyard, and some of the surrounding roads and buildings. Due to its width, an overhead gantry allows modellers to access the middle from above.
