One year after the international-style One Shell Plaza was erected in Houston, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill designed its shorter twin in New Orleans. At 51 stories and 697 feet, One Shell Square has retained the title of the tallest building in both New Orleans and Louisiana since 1972.
