In the major dome it has three bells per side plus one bell in each minor dome, in total there are 16 bells.

"Built between 1108 and 1276, the base is made of solid stones. When looking up you can see how twin openings open, in Romanesque style, which increase the openings as you ascend in height: biforas and triforas that give light to the tower while lightening the weight.

Crowned by a dome surrounded by four small circular towers, and decorated with polychrome tiles that form intersecting arches, like those of the Cloister of Paradise, which Errico Alvino probably looked to for his design of the atrium, in the 19th century.

In the 10th century, the bell tower was built, with a square plan and six floors, with semicircular arches and twin windows.
Elaborate bell tower with a central dome surrounded by four corner towers, all decorated with green and yellow tiles."
