The former Kapunda Baptist Church was constructed in 1866 with random bluestone walls with fine chisel faced square sandstone dressings to attenuated semi-circular headed windows to side elevations, squared windows to principal facade, cornice work, strings and quoins. The facade has Corinthian columns to either side of the pair of semi-circular hooded main entrances between which are three tall,narrow windows.
The building was renovated in 1949 by the Education Department for use as a technical school and in 1967-70 for use as a museum
