Patrick White is the only Australian citizen to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. This house was his residence for many years at the end of his life.

This house was orignially known as Highbury and was the home to Patrick White from 1964 to his death 26 years later. Patrick White was recognized for the strength of association to Australia in his literature and the house and surrounding area is central to much of his writing.

The importance of this house to his literature was recognised by the placement of this house on the New South Wales Heritage Register.

The house is in one of the most prestigious locations in Sydney.
