A large rock acts as a monolith in memory of the victims of the iron mines of the Sierra de Cabrera. The text says like this:
"IN MEMORY OF THE MINERS WHO WORKED AND LEFT THEIR LIVES IN THE MINES OF THE SIERRA DE LA CABRERA. CORCOYA 8-15-2012"

"The iron mines of La Cabrera and the accidents that occurred there constitute an episode, not a small one, in the past of Corcoya and its surroundings. The oldest people have told us that the exploitation was abandoned after a collapse trapped a large number They also told us about the aerial cable, about workers coming from abroad, about foreign companies and about minerals transported to Malaga. The cut, the wells and the remains of buildings are, in turn, faithful witnesses of intense mining activity. Everything is part of oral history, of the collective memory of the inhabitants of the area, with hardly any documents or news referring to such events.

The iron mines of Sierra Cabrera have been, and continue to be, in the oral history of Corcoya and its surroundings. "A serious accident, with dead people never rescued, has constituted the main nucleus of collective memory, which has been losing detail in the dates, number and origin of those buried there."
