Text on the info sign:
"Postal stagecoach
The stagecoach is the smaller of two types used by the Royal Post around 1850.
As the railways expanded in the 1870s, the need for horse-drawn transport declined and the stagecoaches were then handed over to the Crown for military mail delivery.
This wagon is used in Eksjö and the surrounding area and has number 157 in the post office's register. In addition, it has military numbering. The wagon is in original condition."
Swedish Royal Mail opened up their postal stagecoach service in 1831.
Type and Quantity: One Postal stagecoach.
Opening Hours: Tuesday–Sunday 11–15
Admission Fee: 0 outside the museum
