A short hike will give you an amazing view of beautiful Dewey Canyon and three trickles of water called the "Dewey Falls", "Bumpers Falls" and "Heuston" Falls.

The falls themselves are usually anticlimactic but the view of the canyon, the hike around the rim and the caves are worth the five minute walk from your vehicle. It takes longer than five minutes to get back up the hill. In the winter time ice formed by the water run-off is magnificent. The falls were still flowing.
The coordinates put you about 20 feet from the canyon rim so be careful. I estimate the canyon to be 100 to 120 feet deep and the walls are straight down.
The directions to the waymark are taken from a book that we purchased from an Arkansas welcome center "Arkansas Waterfalls Guidebook" by Tim Ernst.
From Mountain View take Ark Hwy 14 north toward Allison. Follow Hwy 14 in a westerly direction toward Fiftysix. Pass through Fiftysix, go 8 miles to where Hwy 341 turns north. It is a newly paved highway. Follow Hwy 341 for 8.9 miles to N36 05.364 W092 20.811. We turned around and parked near the guard rail. Follow the path/drainage down hill to the waymark and Canyon... BE CAREFUL!!!
