Reykjavik is a small capital, but the city is known for its wide range of art and culture. For example, there are over 60 different museums and on almost every street corner there is a gallery, a sculpture or a music venue. Here is a small but varied selection.

1. Sun Voyager / Solfarid N 64° 08.847 W 21° 55.348
The sculpture Sun Vouager, or Solfarid as it is also called, is located at the harbor front. Many people think that it represents a Viking ship, but that is not the case. It is a dream boat and an ode to the sun. It represents the promise of undiscovered territory and a dream of hope, progress and freedom, and is made by the artist Jon Gunnar.

2. Harpa Concert Hall. N 64° 08.999 W 21° 55.978
Harpa is a concert and opera house that houses the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic Opera. It is the center of cultural and social life in the city. Harpa is located by the coast and is a very special and exciting building.

3. The Icelandic Phallological Museum N 64° 08.914 W 21° 56.152
The Icelandic Phallological Museum contains the world's largest collection of biological penises, with hundreds of specimens from the entire Icelandic mammal fauna and well over 100 species from other parts of the world.
The museum is family friendly, humorous, educational and definitely not pornographic.

4. Tie a tie N 64° 08.714 W 21° 55.614
An interesting mural showing how to tie a tie. It can be seen on the wall at a former tailoring shop where shirts were made.

5. The statue of Leif Eriksson N 64° 08.543 W 21° 55.654
One of the most famous landmarks in Reykjavik is the statue of Leifur Eiríksson (c. 970 – c. 1020), also known as Leif Eriksson. The statue of Leif Eriksson, now recognized as the first European to visit North America, personifies the strong sense of identity that explorers have made possible for the entire country of Iceland.
With the location in front of Halgrimm Church, the statue is seen by everyone and in all souvenir shops you can buy your own small statue of Leif Eriksson.

6. Perlan N 64° 07.747 W 21° 55.080
Perlan is also a museum, but an interactive nature museum on 5 floors, where you can experience, among other things, walking inside a glacier, seeing the northern lights or an erupting volcano.
On the top floor is a revolving restaurant. In addition to the food, the view on all sides is also fantastic.
