The statue of Kvinnan i fredsarbejtet (Lady working for peace in the world) calls for peace and disarmament on earth.
The statue is a woman holding out her hand. The woman is placed on a triangular granite plinth.
On all three sides of the plinth there is a bronze relief. The one relief is a peace sign. The second and third reliefs depict two important women in peace work.
The one woman is Alva Myrdal (1902-1986). Swedish diplomat, politician and author. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1982. (

The other woman is Inga Thorsson (1915-1994)
She was a member of the Swedish Parliament, Sweden's Ambassador to Israel in 1964–1970, and Ambassador for the United Nations in 1966 and 1970–1982. From the late 1950s she strongly opposed the plans for Swedish nuclear armament. (

This statue of the Lady working for peace in the world was initiated by the Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War in Sweden (SLMK) in collaboration with The Royal Djurgården Administration. Sculptor of the statue and portraits is Peter Linde and the statue was unveiled on the 16th of June 2016.
