[ES] “El Ratoncito Pérez nació en el siglo XIX de la mano del padre Luis Coloma, un jesuita que por aquel entonces era consejero de la Corona y al que un día le encargaron escribir un cuento para el pequeño Alfonso XIII cuando se le cayó un diente de leche a los 8 años de edad. En el relato se decía que cerca del Palacio Real vivía un roedor con su familia en una caja de galletas que se guardaba en el almacén de una confitería; y se contaba que cada noche el Ratoncito Pérez visitaba las habitaciones del futuro rey y de otros niños más pobres.
De este modo nació este personaje que visita a los niños y les deja un regalito por cada diente que pierden. Este museo está situado en el lugar en el que, según cuenta la tradición, vivió el entrañable roedor con su familia. El museo abarca dos pequeños locales en los que niños y mayores podrán conocer de primera mano cómo era la casa en la que vivía el ratón, consultar la documentación histórica que existe sobre el personaje así como observar dientes de leche "certificados" de personalidades como Beatrix Potter, Beethoven, Isaac Newton o Rosalía de Castro. La edad recomendada es de cinco años en adelante.”

Podremos ver su casa familiar, una gran caja de galletas Huntley, en la que reside junto con su esposa Katalina y sus hijos Adelaida, Elvira y Adolfito; el buzón de correos a través del cual niños y niñas se comunican con Pérez; una reproducción parcial del despacho de Ratón a tamaño humano…
…Veremos escenas que recrean la historia contada por Coloma: la extracción del diente de Bubi por los médicos de palacio; momento en la que éste, con la ayuda de su madre la reina, escribe la carta a Ratón Pérez, escenas del encuentro entre ambos y de cuando es transformado en ratón por, en palabras de Coloma, “un prodigio maravilloso, que nadie hasta el día de hoy ha podido explicarse”.
Encontramos objetos pertenecientes a Bubi como, su diente de leche, su caballo Palomo o su colección de payasos y arlequines, la poesía de Gloria Fuertes, la presencia de D. Jacinto Benavente y D. Benito Pérez-Galdós, el homenaje a una corona…
Además podremos conocer acerca de otras tradiciones en la recogida y análisis de los dientes de leche. Personajes con igual misión en otros lugares del mundo, pertenecientes a la misma red internacional: Tooth Fairy”

[EN] “Ratón Pérez – the Spanish equivalent of the Tooth Fairy – was created by Jesuit writer Luis Coloma back in the 19th century. When he was eight years old, King Alfonso XIII lost a tooth and Coloma, who was a royal advisor, was commissioned to write a story for the little boy. The author dreamed up a tale about a mouse who lived with his family in a biscuit box in the pantry of a sweet shop, not far from the Royal Palace. Every night the mouse, who was called Ratón Pérez, would visit the bedrooms of all the children, including the young king, who’d lost a tooth and leave them a little gift.
The Ratón Pérez House Museum is found in the same place where the adorable mouse was said to have lived with his family. Spread across two small rooms, the museum invites children and their families to see with their own eyes what Ratón Pérez's house looked like, to read historical documents related to the famous character and to see “certified” teeth belonging to the likes of Beatrix Potter, Beethoven, Isaac Newton and Rosalía de Castro.
