The town of Luján, about sixty kilometers from Buenos Aires, is home to the visually and spiritually stunning Basilica of Lujan, which is Argentina's most important pilgrimage center. The beautifully carved steeples were built between 1887 and 1926. They reach a height of 106 meters. The third photo shows a statue of Mary (Nuestra Señora de Luján) located inside the church.

Excerpts from Wikipedia (Google translation):

"The Basilica of Our Lady of Luján is dedicated to Our Lady of Luján, the patron saint of Argentina. For this reason, it is also considered the National Sanctuary of Argentina.

The church is 104 m long and 68.5 m wide at the transept and 42 m at the front. It has two towers 106 m high, each with a large cross. The basilica has two organs, a small one located in the side nave and the main organ or major organ, located above the entrance under the rose window. Both are from the French firm Mutin - Cavaillé Coll, and the largest has the highest air pressure of the Argentine organs, in part to fill the enormous nave of the Basilica with sound. It is out of use today, the last time it was used was in the Year of the Jubilee. Currently only the minor organ works, while the other awaits restoration.

The Basilica was built between May 15, 1887 and 1935. The architects were the engineers Alfonso Flamand and Rómulo Ayerza, and the architects Ulrich Courtois, Ernesto Moreau, Francisque Fleury Tronquoy, Sombrum, Trouve and Laspe.

The towers were comppleted between 1922 and 1926. The bell and the carillon with the electric clocks were placed inside them. In 1922 Father Davani died and the next day Father José María Gimalac took over, and he decided to concentrate on the construction of the east tower for the great carillon. On December 21, 1924, the bells were consecrated. On December 2, 1926, the placement of the metal frame of the east tower was completed and it was inaugurated." (visit link)
