"Es una ruta agradable con una fuerte subida en medio, buenas vistas sobre Iznajar y el embalse, le he puesto moderado por la fuerte subida que tiene. No olvides darte una vuelta por el pueblo, que es pequeño pero tiene partes muy interesantes.
Tras hacer la ruta en el Caserio de Iznajar en la terraza de fuera se esta de escandalo para tomar alguna birrita, tambien es restaurante.
Partiendo de Iznájar nos acercamos al embalse. Cruzamos por un antiguo puente que cuando el embalse esté muy lleno debe quedar bajo el agua. Arriba queda Iznájar, cuyo castillo se asoma sobre el tajo. Llegamos a la zona de Valdearenas, donde hay una playa, pero debido al bajo nivel del embalse la orilla se queda bastante lejos, aunque se puede ver gente en la orilla pescando.
Pasado Valdearenas llegamos al Centro de Interpretación del Embalse. Aquí acaba la carretera y se sigue por un carril que va paralelo a la orilla. En este punto está señalizado el sendero "El Cañuelo".
Un poco más adelante hay que desviarse a la derecha, abandonado la orilla. Subimos por un camino que se va adentrando hacia los campos de olivos. Este desvío está señalizado Pasamos junto a una casa en ruinas. Desde esta altura hay magníficas vistas del embalse.
A partir de aquí el camino discurre entre olivos. Es un tramo más monótono hasta que nos acercamos al borde del tajo que cae sobre el embalse, que nos ofrece buenas vistas del mismo y de los montes de alrededor. Cuando nos acercamos a Iznájar también hay buenas vistas del pueblo.
Descendemos hacia la carretera. Hay que seguir un pequeño tramo por ella, con precaución, hasta cruzar el puente sobre el embalse. Nos desviamos a la izquierda por el paseo que va junto a al carretera hasta llegar de nuevo al pueblo."

A little further on you have to turn to the right, leaving the shore. We go up a path that heads towards the olive fields. This detour is signposted. We pass by a house in ruins. From this height there are magnificent views of the reservoir.
From here the path runs between olive trees. It is a more monotonous stretch until we approach the edge of the pit that falls on the reservoir, which offers us good views of it and the surrounding mountains. When we approach Iznájar there are also good views of the town.
We descend towards the road. You have to follow a small section along it, with caution, until you cross the bridge over the reservoir. We turn left along the path that runs next to the road until we reach the town again."
