Aries with a ring in its mouth. In fact, there are two alike that both are on a richly decorated bronze door in the south side of Saint Mary's Basilica.
The aries including the ring is about 10 cm and is made of bronze. You can see the ring is worn as it has a slightly different colour.
The aries as a work of art is a roughly designed head, very sharp edges mark the shape of the head. The eyes are two hollows like on a skull. Two large symmetrical horns.
At the bottom of the ring there is a decoration that looks like leaves.

Saint Mary's Basilica is a Gothic brick church located on the Great Market Square in Kraków. It was built in the 14th century but its foundations date back to the early 13th century. The church can be recognized by the two towers of different heights.
Every full hour, a trumpet melody sounds from the highest tower, which suddenly stops. And the square is filled with tourists who must witness this trumpet play.
According to legend, there was once a trumpeter who, during his watch at the top of the tower, suddenly saw that an enemy army was approaching the city. He blew the trumpet to warn the townspeople, but he was struck in the neck by one of the enemy's arrows. Although he did not finish playing, he managed to destroy the enemy's surprise plan. The citizens were able to get ready for battle and thereby he saved many lives.
