[EN] “The Lighting and Communications Tower of the Madrid City Council, better known as Faro de Moncloa, is a 110-meter-high structure, located in the University City of Madrid. It is visible from the entire northwest of the capital.

It was designed by the Madrid architect Salvador Pérez Arroyo in 1990. It was built in 1992, and today it occupies the 11th place among the tallest buildings in Madrid, closely followed by the BBVA Tower, in AZCA. Access to the viewpoint part, 92 m high, is via two exterior glass elevators, taking about 50 seconds to reach the top. The upper viewpoint is shaped like a half-moon.

It is located a few meters from the Museum of America, breaking the aesthetics of the area. It can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, and for security reasons it has limited capacity, as well as the prohibition of having more than one wheelchair at the same time on the viewpoint.

It is currently open to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (last upload at 7:30 p.m.), and also on some Mondays (holidays or the day before holidays, Easter, Christmas, etc.).”
