On the memorial itself: Let us not forget September 11, 2001. Dedicated to all who gave of themselves. On the plaque on the monument: Kyle Boyington, B.S.A. Troop 45, Eagle Scout Project 2003. A plaque on the base of the Alabama flag about a foot to the east of the monument: In honor and remembrance of the heros and the victims of September 11, 2001 and to celebrate the enduring spirit of all Americans. Presented by members of Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society September 11, 2002.
