Castelo Velho, or Old Castle, was the ancient Arab fortress build on the top of a hill not far from what is now the village of Alcoutim, in Southern Portugal

This is is managed by the municipality. It was fenced but the lock placed never resisted too long so now it's just open. There were a couple of archaeological campaigns. The place is kept clean and some labels were placed, identifying key places of the old castle.
