[ES] “Esta playa se encuentra en la calle Independencia, en pleno casco urbano de Ceuta. Tiene una longitud de 700 metros y un ancho medio de 70 metros.

Tiene una amplia acera adosada a las murallas, está dotada de todos los servicios (duchas, sombrillas, papeleras, socorrista, acceso de minusválidos y chiringuito) y cuenta con la Bandera Azul de la CEE.

Fue regenerada en 2006 con 175.000 metros cúbicos de arena blanca y fina, con objeto de aumentar su superficie y potenciar su uso lúdico. Se construyeron dos espigones en los extremos de la playa.

Se ha rehabilitado la zona de Fuente Caballos colindante con la playa de la Ribera para ampliar el disfrute de área costera y se han habilitado dos nuevos accesos, uno de ellos mediante un ascensor y el otro por la Puerta de Fuente Caballos, una de las antiguas entradas por las que se accedía desde el mar a la ciudad.

Por su céntrica situación es una de las playas más concurridas de Ceuta. El hecho de encontrarse ubicada en un área estratégica de la ciudad, tanto social, como histórica e urbanística hace de esta playa la más tradicional y con más solera de la ciudad. Su orientación sur, la hace ideal para pasar la tarde tumbados al sol o simplemente para pasear, disfrutando del mar y la arena.”
