The Soldier - Lyons, NY - Outside Wooden Display Carvings on Waymarking.com

This wooden carving doesn't appear to have a name, at least there is no plaque or signage indicating the artist or who the carving is meant to portray. It appears to be a hunter armed with a rifle and dressed as if ready to head out on a little hunting trip. He is wearing a coonskin type cap, boots and heavy coat and pants. This wooden statue can be viewed by parking in the lot next to the Lyons VFW Post on route 14 South a mile South of the village of Lyons. While here, there is also a Static Military Display that is worth visiting as well.
UPDATED INFORMATION:
SOME RANDOM INTERNET RESEARCH HAS HELPED ME IN FINDING THE ARTIST WHO CARVED THE SCULPTURE. IT TURNS OUT IT WAS NOT A "HUNTER", IN FACT IT IS CALLED "THE SOLDIER." IT WAS CARVED BY DUNDEE, NY CHAINSAW ARTIST KEVIN BLACK OUT OF THE STUMP OF AN EXISTING TREE THAT WAS AT THIS LOCATION. THE VFW DECIDED TO HAVE THE STUMP CARVED INSTEAD OF JUST CHOPPING IT DOWN, SO THEY HIRED MR. BLACK TO DO THE CARVING FROM A PICTURE THE VFW HAD ON DISPLAY INSIDE THE POST.
