Une route a été creusée dans le flanc des rochers calcaires qui bordent les gorges pour relier Mouthier Haute-Pierre à Saint-Gorgon-Main et offrir aux habitants de la vallée de la Loue un accès direct vers Pontarlier. Inaugurée le 10 août 1845, elle offre de nombreux points de vue permettant d’apprécier la beauté sauvage du paysage.


A road was dug into the limestone cliffs lining the gorge to link Mouthier Haute-Pierre to Saint-Gorgon-Main, giving the inhabitants of the Loue valley direct access to Pontarlier. Inaugurated on August 10, 1845, it offers numerous vantage points from which to appreciate the wild beauty of the landscape.
