Savonlinna written in giant letters can be seen in a small park area. From a bridge that connects two parts of the city, there is a really nice view of the sign.
The sign is made of metal and is painted white. The letter O is replaced by a red heart.
Savonlinna is a city with around 35,000 inhabitants and is located in south-eastern Finland, which is also called the Finnish Lakeland.
The town is best known for its castle, Olavinlinna Castle from the 15th century. An annual opera festival is held here.
The city has also hosted the mobile phone throwing world championships since 2000. (
