A cyclist counter was installed near the folding bridge Klaffbron at Torggatan. It counts the number of cyclists passing it per day and sums it up for the current year. The counter was installed by the city of Trollhättan.
The display has two lines with a lot of white LEDs (60 x 7 to be exact). In continuous exchange the display shows:
- the number of cyclist per day (I dag: ###) and the number of cyclists yesterday in the line below (I gär: ###)
- then the number of cyclists per year (I är: / #####)
- and finally the date (##/#) and the current time (##:##).
We were there on August 13th at 17:46 and it showed us these numbers: today 224, yesterday 325 and the years sum was 95547.
Note on the pictures: the LEDs seem to be cut off at some places, because the frequency of the display update cycles and the camera opening time for the blend did not match exactly. But for the human eye the numbers were clearly visible.
