The Ålandstravet is a horse track where there are various forms of horse racing on some weekends during the summer. The trotting track is also called the "the Trot in the middle of the sea". And that is because the Åland Islands are located in the middle between Finland and Sweden.
Trot and gallop competitions competitions are organised monthly from spring to autumn. In addition there is a large number of jumping, dressage, and Iceland horse competitions. Icelandic horses have a special form of running called "tölt". It is a four-beat gait, where the horse alternately has one and two legs on the ground
There is also a trotting school, where you get lessons in trotting once a week.
On the whole, the trotting track is used for many forms of equestrian sports in addition to competitive racing. Both dressage and show jumping, also for ponies.
