In 2007 the city decided to honor some people of Trollhättan who have made the town famous outside the municipality's borders and created the idea to have a walk of fame with names chosen by a committee and a park of fame with names chosen by the people of Trollhättan.

As place for the fifteen plaques with the names of the elected people, the Betty Backs park was chosen. The park was named after Betty Back who lived at the site at the beginning of the 20th century and was well known and respected in the city. Each bronze plaque has the form of a five-pointed star with a diameter of roughly 50cm, showing the name of the selected person and the logo of the town Trollhättan. A sixteenth star - that of Niels van der Poel - was added 2021.
