Two skinny but happy Lions are seen as Door Handles on the entrance door to the Thaveniuska house. They are so skinny that you can see their ribs. They stand firmly planted with all four paws on the door facing each other. Do they look hungry? no, they turn their heads and look at you very kindly with a big smile.
Made of bronze and about 15 cm long. They are not as old as the house, as you can see on old photos of the building that the door has been replaced. (visit link)

The Thaveniuska house is one of the first houses built on Strandvägen. Strandvägen is one of the most expensive places to live in Stockholm, which was also the case in 1880, when the fashionable homes were built. In addition to housing, today there are lawyers, shipowners and other professions.
The Thaveniuska house was built in 1884-1885 and is named after the first owner Evald Thavenius. Isak G. Clason, who designed the house, studied architecture in Italy. Perhaps that is why the house is made in the Italian Renaissance style.
Functional door?: yes
