Old, red-painted windmill seen at Önninngeby museum on the Aland Islands.
The mill, mill base and the four mill wings are built of wood and placed on top of a foundation of granite stone.
Most of the mill is painted red, the rest is unpainted wood.
On the side opposite the mill blades there is a very long wooden pole. This has made it possible to turn the mill to the correct wind direction.
The mill is a grain mill.

At a nearby farm, there are two similar mills, but there is no access here.
In fact, you see these windmills in several places on the Aland Islands. And the same red color. Incidentally, a color used for most wooden houses on the islands.
