[SWE] Lumparsund är ett sund mellan Lemland och Lumparland, Åland.

Lumparsunds smala vattenväg mellan Lumparns och Föglöfjärdens öppna vatten är en urgammal farled. Här passerade troligen många av de skepp som under vikingatiden gick från Sverige och vidare till de stora handelsvägarna genom Ryssland och här gick kung Valdemars segelled - men i det här smala faret gällde det nog oftast att ro.


[EN] Lumparsund is a strait between Lemland and Lumparland, Åland. Lumparsund's narrow waterway between Lumparn and the open water of Föglöfjärden is an ancient waterway. Many of the ships that went from Sweden during the Viking Age and on to the major trade routes through Russia probably passed here, and King Valdemar's sailing route passed here - but in this narrow strait it was probably mostly rowing.
