This is the smallest of the two lighthouses existent in Diu's fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and stayed in Portuguese hands until the Indian invasion in December 1961. The lighthouse was also built by the Portuguese as its name indicates: Couraça means Armor in Portuguese.
