Did you know that the Griot ethnic group used to bury their dead in the baobab trees?

Each dead person went to a baobab tree, which was opened and the person was introduced, and then the tree was in charge of closing and "swallowing" him/her.
President Leopold Senghor banned such burials and that year there was a great drought for which the griots blamed him.
Here there is a marked tomb in which two skulls were found and studied by an anthropologist.
Today there are still bones.
