Het ontwerp van de nieuwe kuusepaol is van kunstenares Marion Coolen uit Liempde. Marion bedacht een driehoekige betonnen paalvorm met plateau’s van keramiek voor de kuus-varken en kuus-koe beeltenissen en bekleed met grint. Het plateau met de kuus-varken beeltenis is zichtbaar vanaf de Liempdse kant en het kuus-koe plateau vanaf de Oirschotse kant. Bovenop de afgeschuinde paal een metalen plaat met de bijbehorende tekst.
"De onthulling van de vernieuwde Kuusepaol zaterdag 26 maart 2022 was een groot succes! Bij Herberg De Vrolijke Jager werd op de grens van Oirschot en Liempde de vernieuwde grenspaal onthult door Prins Robert d’n Urste van Ploegersland en de wethouders van Oirschot en Liempde. In het bijzijn van Wim Daniëls, de Ploegers, de Kromploegers en vele andere werd enthousiast gereageerd op de nieuwe grenspaal.
KUUS grenspaal
Koppig of standvastig?
Ergens rond 1992 fietsten twee collega’s vanuit Liempde naar het werk bij de medische tak van een “gloeilampenfabriek in het zuiden des lands” in Best. In de wei van een zijstraat van de A2 vlakbij ‘t Zwart Bakje (voormalig wegrestaurant) stond volgens Piet een kuus, maar Frank kon geen varken ontdekken … “Ge wit er niks van” zei Piet, want die beweerde bij hoog en laag dat kuus toch echt het Brabantse woord voor koe is. Toen ze bij de poort van Philips MSD kwamen, stopte de discussie. De volgende dag wist Piet te melden, dat zijn halfbroer na zijn verhuizing van Liempde naar Oirschot al eerder in de gaten had dat het woord kuus in Brabant meerdere betekenissen had afhankelijk van iemands woon/geboorteplaats. Discussie gesloten.
Kuusgezindten
Jaren later werd die discussie de aanleiding tot een ware “Kuus-middag”, georganiseerd bij gelegenheid van het 33 jaar bestaan van Stichting De Ploegers. Via de media werden met hulp van “kuus-gezindten” koe- en varkensvlaggetjes op een plattegrond van Liempde en omgeving geplaatst. Zo werd een soort taalgrens gezocht. Die bleek o.a. te liggen tussen Liempde en Oirschot bij wat nu Herberg De Vrolijke Jager heet (toen De Schutskuil), grenzend aan Landgoed Velder.
Eikenhout
Na die feestmiddag in mei 2000 op de Liempdse Tip compleet met kuus-muziek en kuus-tatoeages werd in oktober van dat jaar in het bijzijn van “boombeeldhouwer” Theo Sonnemans de door hem gemaakte eikenhouten kuus-grenspaal geplaatst bij de eerder genoemde herberg aan de Oude Grint.
Vernieuwde kuusepaol
In 2022 werd met veel vrijwilligershulp op initiatief van Frank van Bommel de oude kuusepaol vervangen door een nieuw betonnen exemplaar naar een idee van kunstenares Marion Coolen – Liempde."

The design of the new kuusepaol is by artist Marion Coolen from Liempde. Marion came up with a triangular concrete pole shape with ceramic plateaus for the kuus-pig and kuus-cow images and covered with gravel. The plateau with the kuus-pig image is visible from the Liempde side and the kuus-cow plateau from the Oirschotse side. On top of the beveled post a metal plate with the accompanying text.
"The unveiling of the renewed Kuusepaol on Saturday March 26, 2022 was a great success! At Herberg De Vrolijke Jager, on the border of Oirschot and Liempde, the renewed border marker was unveiled by Prince Robert d'n Urste van Ploegersland and the aldermen of Oirschot and Liempde. In the presence of Wim Daniëls, the Ploegers, the Kromploegers and many others, there was an enthusiastic response to the new border marker.
CUUS border marker
Stubborn or steadfast?
Somewhere around 1992, two colleagues cycled from Liempde to work at the medical branch of a “bulb factory in the south of the country” in Best. According to Piet, there was a kus in the meadow of a side street of the A2 near 't Zwart Bakje (former roadside restaurant), but Frank could not discover a pig ... "You don't know anything about it" said Piet, because he claimed that kus was high and low really is the Brabant word for cow. When they got to the Philips MSD gate, the discussion stopped. The next day Piet reported that after his move from Liempde to Oirschot, his half-brother had already noticed that the word kuus had several meanings in Brabant, depending on someone's place of residence/birth. Discussion closed.
Kusophiles
Years later, that discussion became the reason for a true “Kuus-afternoon”, organized on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the De Ploegers Foundation. Through the media, cow and pig flags were placed on a map of Liempde and the surrounding area with the help of 'kuus-minded'. In this way a kind of language border was sought. It turned out to be located between Liempde and Oirschot at what is now called Herberg De Vrolijke Jager (then De Schutskuil), adjacent to Landgoed Velder.
Oak
After that festive afternoon in May 2000 on the Liempdse Tip, complete with kiss music and kiss tattoos, in October of that year, in the presence of "tree sculptor" Theo Sonnemans, the oak kiss border marker he had made was placed at the aforementioned inn on the Old Gravel.
Renewed kitchen pole
In 2022, with a lot of volunteer help at the initiative of Frank van Bommel, the old kuusepaol was replaced by a new concrete one based on an idea by artist Marion Coolen – Liempde."
