The Pink Lake stood out for its pink color, the result of algae and its amount of salt. It is one of the tourist attractions of the country. however, the guide did not deceive us. He said that it no longer looked pink.
The reason he gave was the loss of salt from the water, since there were salt pans with tons of salt extracting this material daily. He also added that the best time to see pink was from March to June.
However we have our doubts, since this lake was the entrance of salt water, and now they drain fresh water from Dakar, so they are finishing with the salt.
We hope they correct this problem.
The salt pans there are rudimentary, where you will see the small mountains of salt. It is extracted in the boats that you see.
Kind: Salt Pan
