This building is a Belgian national monument. According to the register:
"This building has a twentieth-century façade incorporating a bas-relief frieze dating from 1658(?) depicting several brewery scenes. This is the only witness of the brewery "De Gapaard" that was located here. This performance represents the brewing of beer in an artful and detailed way. This building used to be part of the brewery called “De Gapaard”. The brewery was already in this area in 1409. There was an exit from the brewery via the former station square, now 't Zand. All that remains of this brewery is a bas-relief from 1658 (?) with some brewery scenes. This frieze is set in a new facade of red brick. The sandstone relief represents the following scenes from right to left. Three men use stirring forks to stir the malt and water in the brewing or stirring tub."
