On the initiative of the Malta Olympic Committee, this Olympic memorial garden was opened on December 26 1994. It is located at a roundabout in Xemxija.

In the park, this stone with text is located:
MASGAR OLIMPIKU
INAUGURATED BY CENSU GALEA, MINISTER FOR FOOD, AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES ON 26 DECEMBER 1994. TO COMMEMORATE THE FIRST 100 YEARS OF THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC MOVEMENT 1894 - 1994 AT THE INITIATIVE OF THE MALTA OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

The memorial garden contains, among other things, a bust of the founder of the modern Olympic Games, the Frenchman Pierre de Coubertin. However, this bust disappeared in 2018 and the memorial garden was vandalized in various ways. (visit link) It is unknown whether the missing bust was found again or whether a new one has been produced. But the bust of Pierre de Coubertin is again to be seen in the memorial garden.
At the bust there is a commemorative plaque with the following text:
BARON PIERRE DE COUBERTIN
FOUNDER OF THE MODERN OLYMPIC MOVEMENT
1863-1937
DONATED BY THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE
FOR THE MALTA OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

You can also see the five colored rings that symbolize the Olympic Games. In front of these is the Olympic fire (there is no flame though). Another element is a winner's podium with the three positions 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

It is a nice little memorial garden for the Olympic Games. As an extra surprise, you will quickly discover that there are chickens!!! up in the trees. They are very noisy when you walk around the garden. And in fact, you don't notice them until they start making noise.

Malta has participated in most Olympic Games and participated for the first time during the 1928 Summer Olympics. Malta has never won a medal. (visit link)
