Levikki on hieman suurempi kuin toisen paikallislehden, Nya Ålandin. Lehden perusti Julius Sundblom vuonna 1891. Sen nykyisenä päätoimittajana toimii Daniel Dahlén.
Vuodesta 2015 alkaen lehti ilmestyy kolme kertaa viikossa. Torstain numeron mukana ilmestyvät liitteet Veckans Åland ja TV-Åland. Ålandstidningenin julkaisee Ålands Tidnings-Tryckeri AB.

[EN] Ålandstidningen (Tidningen Åland) is one of Åland's two newspapers. In 2018, the magazine had a little over 8,400 subscribers, and the number has been growing. The circulation is slightly larger than that of another local newspaper, Nya Åland. The magazine was founded by Julius Sundblom in 1891. Its current editor-in-chief is Daniel Dahlén.
Starting in 2015, the magazine is published three times a week. The supplements Veckans Åland and TV-Åland appear with Thursday's issue. Ålandstidningen is published by Ålands Tidnings-Tryckeri AB.
