At the Mechelse Hei nature park, you will find the map of the area. One of the walk area's (Zandloperpad), was sponsored by many organisations, which also includes the local Rotary club Genk - Staelen.

About the Zandloperpad (Hourglass path)
"Hourglass Path
The paved path from the car park leads to the Zandloperpad. This 1.5 km wheelchair path through the former sand quarry shows the different biotopes of the National Park. A mini-National Park, so to speak. A bird watching wall, a platform and some physical challenges make it even more fun."
