El Museo Internacional de Títeres de Albaida (MITA) se encuentra dento del Palacio de los Milà i Aragó, un conjunto arquitectónico del siglo XV que tiene más de 1.100 metros cuadrados. Este museo alberga una gran colección de marionetas que provienen de todas partes del mundo; la mayoría de ellas representan el arte y la cultura de su país de origen.
Fue inaugurado en 1997 y es único en su especie en España; no hay otro museo de carácter internacional que se dedique a preservar, estudiar, conservar, investigar y comunicar el arte del títere en la sociedad.
¿Qué podemos encontrar si visitamos el MITA en Albaida? La primera planta te ofrece un audiovisual que nos explica las técnicas para animar títeres. También con una colección de las figuras más antiguas del museo, de países tan diversos como Nigeria, Turquía, Pakistán, Rumanía o Inglaterra. Destaca especialmente la colección de la Isla de Java, con una serie de títeres que son Patrimonio Oral e Intangible de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.
Si subes a la segunda planta encontrarás más marionetas, divididas de forma cronológica y temática, con salas dedicadas a los títeres de espectáculos teatrales, cine y televisión. ¿Te acuerdas de los guiñoles de Las Noticias del Guiñol o de los Electroduendes de La bola de cristal? En el MITA podrás verlos de cerca.
Una de las joyas del museo, al menos para los valencianos, es Babalà, el simpático perro que acompañó a los niños de los 90 desde la televisión. Y no olvides que organizan visitas guiadas, espectáculos, cursos, cuenta cuentos, talleres de títeres y todo tipo de experiencias lúdicas y didácticas perfectas para niños de 5 a 100 años".

The Albaida International Puppet Museum (MITA) is located inside the Milà i Aragó Palace, an architectural complex from the 15th century that covers more than 1,100 square meters. This museum houses a large collection of puppets that come from all over the world; most of them represent the art and culture of their country of origin.
It was inaugurated in 1997 and is the only one of its kind in Spain; There is no other international museum that is dedicated to preserving, studying, conserving, researching and communicating puppet art in society.
What can we find if we visit the MITA in Albaida? The first floor offers you an audiovisual that explains the techniques to animate puppets. Also with a collection of the oldest figures in the museum, from countries as diverse as Nigeria, Turkey, Pakistan, Romania or England. The collection of the Island of Java stands out especially, with a series of puppets that are Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
If you go up to the second floor you will find more puppets, divided chronologically and thematically, with rooms dedicated to puppets from theater, film and television shows. Do you remember the puppets from Las Noticias del Puppet or the Electroduendes from La bola de cristal? At MITA you will be able to see them up close.
