On the house Strada Libertatii 14 in Oradea, Romania is a nice memorial
plaque for the two architects Rimanóczy Kálmán Sr. & Jr. The plaque is made of a
small bronze(?) relief of the two men and some text in Romanian and Hungarian
language:
In this building lived and created
between the years 1894 - 1908 the architects
RIMANÓCZY KÁLMÁN senior and junior
contributing to the perfection of the image of the
modern Oradea
The architects Kalman Rimanoczy Sr. and Jr. are responsible for many of
the beautiful buildings in Oradea.
Kálmán Rimanóczy Senior
"Kálmán Rimanóczy Senior (b.May 12, 1840, Kapuvár, Sopron County ,
Hungary – d.January 2, 1908, Oradea, Austria-Hungary ) was a Hungarian
architect from Oradea, construction contractor.
[...] In the 1860s he worked in and around Budapest. Apparently the
first son was born here. In 1867 canon Nogáll János, ordained bishop,
invited him to build the Saint Vincent de Paul Institute in Oradea. His work
was highly appreciated in Oradea and that is why he settled in the city on
the banks of the Crisului Repede.
Rimanóczy would follow in his father's footsteps and conceive and
design buildings in the eclectic style. Art Nouveau -Secession motifs can be
found in some of his buildings, with the architect's son, Kálmán Rimanóczy
(son), also contributing to the design. Until his death, he accepted only
one contract outside Oradea, when he participated in the construction of the
Uránia cinema in Budapest, between 1893 and 1995, on Calea Kerepesi (today
Rákóczi Street). Kálmán Rimanóczy was very attached to Oradea. One of his
great merits is the establishment of the Szigligeti Theater and the
arrangement of the last corner of Bémer Square (today: Ferdinand Square)."

Kálmán Rimanóczy Junior
"Kálmán Rimanóczy Junior (b.May 1, 1870, Oradea, Austria-Hungary – d.June 11,
1912, Vienna, Austria-Hungary) was a Hungarian architect from Oradea.
[...] After working for a while in Budapest, he came to Oradea as his
father's partner.
After his father's death, he continued the design work in Oradea.
He built family houses, public buildings in Oradea, five rural
castles (Lovassy castle in Batar, Bihor, István Tisza's mansion, Bölönyi
castle in Pusztaszilas, Karolyi castle in Nagyszénás, Schwartz castle in
Doba), Baron Boraemisza Elemer's castle in Asuaj, Maramures, as well as
hotels, hospitals, churches. He proceeded to a mixture of styles, in the
spirit of the age.
The young Kálmán Rimanóczy died at the age of 42 in a sanatorium near
Vienna. He was buried in the cemetery in the Olosig district of Oradea,
demolished by the communists and turned into a park. The remains of the
Rimanoczy family and other personalities were moved by Bishop József Tempfli
to the Church of the Barats in Oradea (Barátok temploma)."
