Vestmanna Tourist Center is a large tourist center where it is both possible to eat and buy tickets to various attractions.
For example, you can buy tickets for a boat trip to go fishing or an excursion to cliffs with many birds, including the cute puffins.
Tickets are also sold for the Saga Museum, the only Wax Museum in the Faroe Islands, which has rooms in the tourist information buildings. It tells the history of the Faroe Islands in gruesome detail. I would not recommend bringing children. There is a lot of blood and death and the characters are incredibly realistic.
However, there is also a shop where a number of items of wool, sweaters and leather are sold. Remember, there are more sheep than people in the Faroe Islands..... But of course also other souvenirs that are not made from sheep.
A lovely restaurant which is open most of the day. Try, for example, the delicious fish soup.
Lots of brochures about activities, attractions and hikes.
And very friendly staff who speak different languages
