"Harbor Muiderberg
Muiderberg has been a popular place for holidays and day trippers for more than a century. At the beginning of the last century, when Muiderberg still bordered the Zuiderzee and the water was still salty, there were three jetties where boats could be rented. Beach life flourished.

The Afsluitdijk was completed in 1932. The water became fresh and less wild. Ideal for bathers, who continued to come in large numbers. Due to the arrival of the steam tram, there were around 5000 visitors per day when the weather was nice.

After the Second World War, the busy years were over. In the end, one jetty remained, which was managed by Henk Hazelaar, and later taken over by Willem Fagel. The character of the jetty changed over the years. More sailboats came.

In 1995 the port was taken over by the current harbor master Jeroen den Hartog. In the harbor of Muiderberg it is a wonderful place for sailing and surfing between mid-April and early October!"
